If you remember I stated before not to epoxy those wing alignment dowels into place, wait until after you finish covering the wing. In this photo, they are still removable, they will also be shortened to an appropriate length.

Second (and final) coat of Finishing Resin applied to the wing's center section.

Shaped and fit two balsa wood blocks for a better transition between the wing and fuselage. With a bit of filler it should be seamless.

Built as per the plans this is how the leading edge of the wing transitions to the fuselage. I think I can make it better.

The fit of the wing saddle needed a bit of fine tuning so I decided to get a little better fit.

I can live with the fit now...

Here's one of those small items that needed to get done, hard points for the tail flying wires. Again, not specified on the plans just some much needed support for the tail fin.

I also made a hatch cover out of Lite Ply to gain access to the rudder servo.

A few views of the hatch in place.

I'm happy to report that all of the building has been completed. Now comes the tedious task of sanding, fitting and doing a bit of odds and ends before I get ready to fuel proof the forward section of the fuselage both inside and out.

I picked up these magnets at my local hardware store.

Made the battery/tank hatch cover. I could have taken the easier route and secured it with screws, but I chose to use magnets to hold the hatch in place...a much cleaner look. I recess the magnets in basswood blocks which were epoxied in place. Steel washers were let into the underside of the balsa hatch.

The tank/battery assembly. Hook and loop tape will also be in between the tank and mount as well as the battery and mount to help isolate vibration and help stop any unwanted movement.

I still have to run the throttle cable in there as well!!!

Here the tray is in position. Note the hardwood brace running across the front, this serves as a tank stop.

I tried to design an easy way to install the fuel tank and battery. Should they ever need servicing, removing four 2-56 cap head screws will remove the tank/battery assembly as one unit.

Pull-pull for the rudder is done! That was a bit of a pain, but I'm glad I did it.
